Granville Island is a charming place for a weekend romp. There is only one hotel in this location on the east end of the island overlooking the water of False Creek and the luxury boats moored at the dock. The hotel itself has a decent restaurant but its appeal lies in the atmosphere of Granville Island itself. Tucked under the south end of the Granville Street Bridge, the island is a great place to explore. Take some time to follow the water around the island and enjoy the view, discover the many artisan shops throughout, get a present for your children at the Kids Market, eat at one of the great restaurants down here like the Sandbar Seafood Restaurant or Bridges or shop at the Granville Island Public Market for tasty treats. The hotel offers the following romance package:

Romantic Interlude Package

One night accommodation, a single rose, chocolates, a bottle of wine, breakfast for two at the Dockside Restaurant.

Rates start from $199 CAD per night.

Sexy Highlights

  • Watching the sunset from the patio at Bridges Restaurant at the west end of the island.
  • Strolling hand in hand through the many streets and unexpectedly charming alleys of Granville Island.

Review

Granville Island Hotel is where I spent my wedding night and so I do have an emotional attachment to this place. It was a great choice in terms of location for a languid morning after. Waking up to sunlight bouncing off the water outside and sparkling on the ceiling was magical. It almost felt as if we were in a houseboat, the water was so close. We had a corner suite with a great view of False Creek and were quite content to linger as late as they would let us.

The two Penthouse Suites on the top floor include Jacuzzi tubs under skylights, marble showers and fireplaces. If you have the money to indulge, these would all be lovely upgrades for a sexy night together, offering many location options for relaxing and not relaxing. Firelight on naked skin is particularly attractive.

Having lived in Vancouver for many years now, Granville Island is a regular haunt, but I still enjoy myself whenever I visit. I recommend going to La Baguette and L’Echalote for some pastries and exploring the Public Market for other tasty tidbits to stimulate your senses and fire up your engine. A romantic picnic for two in your room may be the perfect beginning to a night of passion. All that sea air is bound to help you work up an appetite as well so it is a good idea to lay in the supplies.

Explore, discover and have fun as a couple at the Granville Island Hotel.
