The Pacific Palisades in Vancouver is a funky and fun hotel that is part of the Klimpton hotel chain. Located in the heart of the Robson Street shopping district of Vancouver, its décor is as fresh and lively as its approach to romance. The hotel also understands that not everyone wants the same cookie cutter approach to a sexy hotel getaway and provides a variety of packages. The one thing all share is a sense of indulgence and playfulness:
Package #1 – Get a Room
One night in a South Beach suite with a king sized bed and a view from a large balcony, bottle of BC wine, in-room movie, breakfast in bed and a Lover’s Paintbox by Kama Sutra.
Rates start from $299 CAD per night.
Package #2 – Something Zinful
One night in a South Beach suite, a three course dinner for two including 3 flight tasters of wine in Zin Restaurant and Lounge as well as a bottle of Seven Deadly Zins Zinfadel wine to take home.
Rates start from $350 CAD per night.
Package #3 – Guilty Pleasures Package
One night in a South Beach suite, two rounds of drinks for two in Zin Restaurant and Lounge, an in room movie (any genre) with junk food, and a Kama Sutra’s Earthly Delights tin filled with everything you need for romance, a few colourful condoms, and other must haves for a fun filled evening.

Package #4 – Choose Your Bliss

Review
Pacific Palisades is one of my top picks for Vancouver if you are looking for a playful, sexy getaway. Its location in the heart of downtown means you have access to all kinds of extra entertainment and you can’t beat the light-hearted atmosphere of the place. The décor colour palate is fresh, the rooms extremely comfortable, the views cannot be beat. The hotel knows how to engage every sense and understands how important this is for a complete romantic experience.
I indulged in the “Get a Room” package when it included glow in the dark body paint and a black light. The sense of humour in this is something I really appreciated, even if the body paint failed to illuminate (which in fact made it even more funny). Perhaps this became a more common phenomenon which is why this package now includes the Kama Sutra Lover’s Paintbox (whipped chocolate body paint in dark, milk and white flavours and a high quality paint brush that offers its own ticklish possibilities).
Pacific Palisades also offers the extremely decadent (and expensive) “Choose Your Bliss” package with an incredible premium room offering and a wide range of options that should satisfy any whim and sensibility. It’s just a pity they don’t offer some scaled down versions of these same products for those of us who don’t have really deep pockets.
A couple nit picky downsides of this great hotel is that it does not include automatic late check outs with its romance packages (although you can request this). Also room service shuts down from midnight and 6 a.m. meaning any “supplies” will have to be ordered before the clock chimes twelve.
All in all, however, I highly recommend the Pacific Palisades for your Vancouver hotel escape.
