Review

I went to the Wedgewood Hotel for my tenth wedding anniversary, where we were lucky enough to treat ourselves to a two night stay. It was definitely worth the extra money. Having that one complete day in the middle of two fun filled nights felt like the height of decadence. As the mother of two small children I never get to sleep in. I woke up at my obscenely early usual time on the Saturday to be happily lured back to dreamland by the beautiful king size bed covered with soft bedding and copious amounts of pillows. I slept and slept and slept. Only to be awoken with a tasty breakfast in bed. So luxurious.

The Wedgewood provides a classically elegant setting combined with great food and a very friendly staff. You would expect this more traditionally decorated establishment to be a formal place, but I found the hotel staff to be some of the most approachable I have met. Everyone from housekeeping to the front desk to room service was warm and welcoming and made a point of greeting you as you passed them in the halls or elevator.

As part of our indulgence at this Vancouver boutique hotel, we also took advantage of a luxury penthouse suite that included a fireplace and a balcony. For a winter celebration (December) we found the fire a particularly cozy addition to our experience, especially for those lazy mornings-after. Some of the Penthouse suites and Wedgewood suites, include huge jetted bathtubs suitable for two. Water play is a great way to relax into a sexy getaway and these tubs are perfect.
